Helen Welch's Obituary
HELEN (HONEY) WELCH, 89, died at the home of her daughter in Leesburg, VA on Saturday June 21, 2008. Evercare Hospice supported her care for the past two months. Mrs. Welch was born August 27, 1918 in Washington, DC to the late Thomas and Helen Hogan. Her husband in 2002 and a grandson also predeceased her. She attended catholic schools in Washington, DC and married Clarence (Tubby) Welch on December 31, 1935. Mrs. Welch moved to Loudoun County in 1943 and resided in Lovettsville, VA for many years before her passing. Her career joys were being a farmer’s wife and nurturing her three children, their spouses and her ever-growing number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lovettsville.
Survivors include two sons: Clarence (Tubby) Welch, III of Morehead City, N.C., Robert Welch, of Leesburg; one daughter: Susie Silliman of Leesburg; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Friends may call at the Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapels 34 East Broad Way, Lovettsville on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 5:00 pm until the time of services at 7pm.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 25 at Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Rev. Andreas Armstrong will be officiating.
Memorials may be sent to the Saint James Reformed Cemetery.
