I will always remember meeting Grandpa Jack at the Eagle Scout ceremony for his grandson Neil in Bellevue, Washington. He was a lively participant and more than lived up to the almost legendary tales my wife Julie and I had heard about him from his daughter Candy and son-in-law Curt in our couple group. Curt would describe his amazement at the lively family dynamics at the Rossell dinner table when he was invited to dine during his courtship of Candy in their high school years. Meeting Jack in person more than matched the verbal descriptions of him those many years ago. He certainly shattered whatever stereotype I had of the "no drama" FAA types I had met up to that point. What a "bigger than life guy" who even in a wheelchair was the life of the party and "owned the room" wherever he was present. Candy's transcontinental devotion to him in these more recent years along with his primary caregiver son and wife have been a genuine inspiration to me on living out the biblical injunction to honor your father. I am grateful for Jack's witness to living life fully along with the witness of caring from his children.

We were sorry to read about Jack's passing. For several seasons we sat right behind Jack as he served his fans and guarded Section 106 at Harbor Park. Besides HIS fans, he seemed to know most of the folks who passed by. He was a remarkable caring man with a great sense of humor. We hope that you will find comfort in the many memories you can share. Please know that you and jack are in our thoughts and prayers.

We will always cherish the good times we had with Jack when he was an usher for section 109 at Harbor Park. Heaven has a true baseball fan. David Day & The Coach.
