Dear Townsend Family,
Grace and Peace be multiplied to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Human words are always inadequate in the face of unspeakable loss. There are no human words that can soothe the heart of a grieving parent, spouse or child. Our hearts go out to you as we join you in your grief.
Do not despair, nor let your heart be troubled. Walk always in the bright light of joy with a heart filled with rejoicing. Do not grumble nor complain; but in everything be grateful and give thanks. For if there be any good things, think on them. Focus on the blessings God has showered your life with, especially with your departed love one. You may not always be able to control the circumstances that take place in your life; but you can always control what you think about.
As Christians, we know this is not our real home. Christ conquered death for all of us-we will see our loved ones again. We grieve, yet through Christ we know our grief will turn to joy. And in the midst of our grief, we can join Job in saying, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.” (Job 19:25 NKJV)
Please remember that you are not alone-you have a Redeemer and a family in Christ. All of us at Rehoboth New Life Church share your sorrow at the loss of your Father, Brother, Uncle and friend– Brother Townsend , a true Friend to many. We pray that you always remember the good things about him and why you loved him so.
May the grace of our Redeemer, and the love of the Father, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you.
Yours in Christ,
Bishop Ernest C. Dawson, Senior Pastor
