Hilda Baker's Obituary
HILDA McFARLAND BAKER
Hilda Baker died unexpectedly on January 19th, 2006 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Strasburg, Virginia on January 2nd, 1915.
Hilda was known affectionately by all who loved her as “NANA”. NANA was truly an angelic ambassador upon this earth. She loved and cared-for all persons that were in need. She was one of the founding members of the Episcopal, Church of the Epiphany, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Later, she was active with the Williamston Presbyterian Church in Williamston, South Carolina. She and her husband retired to Houston,Texas where they lived with their daughter Joan Keown. Hilda’s husband, E. Carlton Baker, deceased in June, 2000.
She is survived by one sister, Jeannette Smith of Washington, D.C.; two children, daughter Joan Keown of Houston, Texas, son Carlton “Butch” Baker of Greenville, S.C.; son-in-law Sam Keown, daughter-in-law Carolyn Baker; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Hitt, Catherine Kokenes, Beth Cluck, Kelly Baker, Lee Baker, Kelly Fenters, Kimberly Broome, Jonathan Bentley; eleven great-grandchildren, Sara Westra, Megan Kokenes, Nathan Cluck, Brandon Cluck, Cameron Cluck, Ryan Kokenes, Kaila Broome, Shawn Terrell, Ridgley Fenters, Robert Fenters, and Jacob Bentley.
Loving surviving friends are; Ed and Judy Crook & family, Sue Crook, Bill and Beverly Jackson & family,
Richard and Dot Herbert & family, Virginia Fallin, Reba Morris, Vern Alexander, and the entire staff of Milestone Family Medicine.
Chapel and funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Point of Rocks Maryland, on Saturday January 28th at 11:00 A.M. Hilda will be buried in the Baker family plot next to her husband.
Loudoun Funeral Chapel will be handling all arrangements, 158 Catoctin Circle S.E., Leesburg, Virginia, 20175.
