Holly "Hol" Zungali's Obituary
Holly “Hol” Zungali, 42, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 5, 1983, in Rochester, New York, Holly was the daughter of Chris Haefner and Diane Relyea and the late Jan Haefner. Raised just outside Rochester, Holly graduated from Pittsford Mendon High School in 2002 and later attended George Mason University in Virginia, remaining there after earning her degree in 2007.
Holly was known for her infectious laughter, radiant energy, and unwavering strength. She found happiness in life’s simple moments — long walks, workouts, laughter shared with friends, and especially cheering for her sons as they played football. Holly was at her happiest when she was cooking delicious treats for her cherished family and friends. She faced years of medical challenges with remarkable courage and determination, always working hard to regain her health and maintain a joyful spirit.
Fashion and travel, particularly trips to the Outer Banks, were among Holly’s greatest passions. Her love for beauty, creativity, and the people around her left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Holly is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Zungali; her cherished sons, Jackson Thorne and Logan Zungali; her parents, Chris Haefner and Diane Relyea; her siblings, Melissa Emerson, Kit Haefner, Jake Purcell, and Cody Haefner, and many extended family and friends who adored her.
Family will receive guest for calling hours on Thursday December 18, 2025 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. A memorial service to celebrate Holly’s life will follow at 1pm also at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
Holly's memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
