Hugh Lee Paige Jr. (Pete)'s Obituary
On Sunday, March 17, 2024, a beloved husband, bonus Dad, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend slipped peacefully away to a place where there is no sickness, no pain, no sorrow, where there's always happiness, and sunshine that never ends.
"The blow was hard, the shock severe; we never thought your death so near. But we know God, in His love, is too wise to err, and too kind to be unjust."
Hugh Lee Paige, Jr. (Pete), age 64, was born on April 6, 1959, in Norfolk, VA, to loving parents, Hugh Lee Paige, Sr., and Cornelia B. (Brehon) Paige. Pete resided in Leesburg, VA, with his beloved husband, Vince Black, whom he wed on May 15, 2016, and their two cherished Dachshunds, Mario & Fabio. Pete pursued his studies in Business at the University of South Carolina before bringing his professional expertise to Dewberry, an Engineering Consultation Firm in Fairfax, VA, where he served as their Contact Center Manager for nearly 6 years.
An active member of the Faith AME Mission Woodbridge community under the leadership of Pastor Terence D. Brown, Pete was known for his quiet demeanor, love for fun, soft-hearted nature, and deep devotion to God and humanity. His compassionate spirit shone through his dedicated service on the Board of Directors for Reston Pride and Dulles Triangles.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted Husband, Vince Black of Leesburg, VA; a Bonus Son, Alex Black (Heather) of Florida; a Bonus Daughter, Masumi Welch (Jason) of Leesburg, VA; 2 grandsons; a Sister, Yvonne Mason (Greg) of Woodbridge, VA; a Brother, Hilton Paige (Baudilia) of Fredericksburg, VA. Nieces, LaToya Williams-Mason, Cerissa Tee (Eric), Kayana Mason, Alexus Wright, Imani Reynolds, Temple Tee, Renee Brehon, Tina Brehon, Cathaliya Lanford, and Keisha Gilbert. Nephews, Kaimba Mason (Chasity), Ilijah Mason, Isaiah Reynolds, Tristan Tee, Benjamin Brehon, and Craig Brehon. Cousins, Leonder Garris, Michael Garris, Basil Garris, Dr. Beverly Glenn, Dana Glenn, Rodney Evans, Renwick Paige, Derwick Paige, Emmanuel Waddell, and Louise Wright.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Cornelia Paige, Sr., and his brother, Benjamin Brehon.
