Irene Ann Sturgill's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Irene Ann Sturgill (née McComb) on June 22, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in County Down, Northern Ireland, on March 23, 1941, Irene brought warmth, strength, and a deep love for family into the world from her very first breath.
Irene’s life was rich with devotion to her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ryan Sturgill and his wife Lauren, and Renee Grace and her husband Patrick. Irene was a proud and devoted grandmother to William Grace, Kelly Grace, Johnny Sturgill, and Bobby Grace, who brought her immeasurable joy.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings: sisters Katherine Lockhart, Betty Barber, Annie Scott, and Lue Benson; and brothers Tommy McComb, Johnny McComb, Harry McComb, and Phillip McComb. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Carsenia McComb and siblings Peggy Spiers, Stella Brown and Marion Stafford whose love and guidance shaped her early life.
Irene was the most amazing Mom, but she was born to be a Nana. With her Grandchildren, her home was always open, her table always full, and her arms always ready for a hug.
We will be celebrating Irene along with our Father at Raspberry Falls Country Club grill room on July 9th, 2025 between the hours of 4pm and 7pm. Her family requests in lieu of flowers we would appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers as you recall a fond memory of Irene. In addition, her family will hold a service back in Northern Ireland.
Though she has left this world, Irene’s love and legacy live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
