Irene Bertha Briggs' Obituary
Irene Bertha Briggs, 91 of Leesburg, Virginia died on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Heritage Hall Nursing and Rehab.
The eldest of 10 children, born Wednesday, January 1, 1919 in Fauquier County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Hill and the late Kate Spinnie Hill.
Irene was a domestic worker for many years, working for Dr. Belote and William F. Tyler. She worked as a dining attendant at the Medeira School in Great Falls from 1967 until retiring in 1984.
She was predeceased by her husband of William Albert Briggs in 1966.
Surviving are sons, Donald Eugene Briggs of Gore, VA and Samuel Michael Briggs and wife Brenda and grandson Michael Wesley Briggs all of Riverdale, MD. She is also survived by her sister, Beatrice Harris of Capital Heights, MD, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA. A viewing will be held from 1pm until the time of service.
Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Round Hill, VA.
