Ivan Burmaka's Obituary
IVAN BURMAKA, 48, a resident of Ashburn, VA died on Saturday September 9, 2006 in Ashburn.
Mr. Burmaka is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mrs. Marina V. Burmaka of Ashburn, VA; his mother Nina Ivanovna Burmaka of Sumy, Ukraine; two children: Yaroslav Burmaka of Frederick, MD and Vsevolod Burmaka of Ashburn, VA; one sister: Natasha Gullion of Foley, Alabama; one brother: Vladimir Burmaka of Sumy, Ukraine and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, VA on Wednesday September 13, 2006 from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, VA.
Mr. Burmaka was born October 25, 1957 in Nishniy Tagil, Russia to the late Yakov Nikolaevich Burmaka and Nina Ivanovna Burmaka. He graduated in 1980 from the Merchant Marine Academy in Odessa, Ukraine with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Burmaka came to the United States in 1989 and resided in Gaithersburg, MD for sixteen years before moving to Ashburn. He was diagnosed with Parkinson?s disease in 1994 at the age of 36. He was a self-employed interpreter for several government agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of Labor and the Ukrainian Embassy. He was a loving husband and father and was loved by all.
