JAMES ELWOOD DAVIS's Obituary
James Elwood Davis, 63, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 10, 2023, at his home in Leesburg, Va.
James was born in Leesburg, VA, on May 7, 1959, to the late William and Eula Davis. He grew up and remained in Leesburg (Gleedsville) for majority of his life. At one point, James moved to Washington, DC with his sisters. James lived in DC for a short period of time and later decided to move back to Leesburg. James was the 9th child. He was educated in Loudoun County Public School Systems in Leesburg.
In James’ early years, he was the Manager at McDonald’s (we were so happy when he came home with those McDonald’s hamburger!) He worked for Colonel Smith Construction & Landscaping. Later, James became self-employed as the CEO of Home Value Creations. He played football (had lunch with Charlie Taylor). Not sure if he learned Karate, (but he was acting like he knew Karate!). If you knew James, you knew he was a very intelligent person and could discuss any subject that you wanted to talk about. James loved to read, writing poetry, listening to music and was a true DALLAS COWBOYS fan. If DEM BOYS won, we would receive a text message saying, “we did it”. James was a lovable person with a great personality that will definitely leave priceless memories. We will always remember his gentle spirit.
James leaves to cherish his memories with his sisters: Ruby Davis, Martha (Sue) Hughes, Mary Davis-Long (Michael), Mildred (Millie) Davis, and his brother: Stanley (Harbor) Davis. Aunt Emily Ellerbee and Cousin: Omar. Siblings proceeded him in death (Carl, Ann, Bud, Henry D., and Rosie).
Also, the family would like to acknowledge James’ beloved partner, (Wanda Hill) who proceeded him in death. The family also would like to acknowledge Wanda’s living daughters who he truly adored and loved: Skyla, Jasmine, Shamia and Chakiya Hill.
James leaves to cherish his nieces and nephews (Gwen, Lisa, Tawanda, Tara, Sherena, Jeanette, Tiffany, Tinola, Taylor, Ikea, Brenda, James, I-ke, Vondell, and Carlos). As well as numerous great and great, great nieces and nephews. Niece and Nephews proceeded him in death: Teresa, Jerell, Ronnie, John, Chuckie and Tyrone.
Special Acknowledgements: Harold Reid, Helen Griffin, Gladys Burke, Wilber (Brother) Sheppard, Lynn and Carolyn Dade, Brenda Banks, Tammy Young, and a host of other friends of the family.
