James Frazier Gaines 4 May1938 – 12 Dec2025 age 87
My dearest friend Jim Gaines died un-expectantly on Friday 12 Dec2025. The day before, his doctor said Jim was in fine shape and Jim then enjoyed a big steak dinner. On the night of 12Dec I had already planned to meet with his daughter Jill Gaines and about 10 members of her family who were all visiting in town at Colonial Williamsburg. Then Jill got the news from Chantilly, VA and we spent time telling stories about Jim. We both cried. He was so proud of her.
Jim’s daughter, Dr. Jill Gaines, has arranged a memorial service for Jim at Loudoun Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
The event will be this Sunday, December 21st at 2 pm. We will mingle from 2 pm – 3 pm, then have the service at 3 pm, and a reception afterwards with snacks and drinks.
