James (Jim) Edward Piechocki's Obituary
James “Jim” Edward Piechocki, 65. Passed away unexpectedly at home on August 6, 2024 in Lovettsville, VA.
Jim was born on October 10, 1958 at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood, CA to Joan and James J. Piechocki. He was the oldest of siblings Mary, Carol, and Lynne.
He attended Our Lady of Peace School, North Hills, CA; Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, CA and the University of Southern California where he earned his BA in Cinematic Arts and MA in Communication Management.
From an early age Jim set his sights on a career in film production and writing. His genius in both areas led to incredible opportunities spanning the country. In his most recent position, Jim was an esteemed ATD-certified instructional designer, excelling in both technical and soft skills training. His expertise spanned leadership, conflict resolution, and industrial safety. He earned numerous awards from leading organizations, including Adobe, Brandon Hall, and the American Film Institute.
Jim married Pauline Lau in 2001 and they welcomed their daughter Maia in 2004. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Jim’s best friend, Tom Meshelski, whose unwavering support and friendship since the first grade meant the world to him. Your kindness and presence throughout the years were a true blessing.
Jim was a lifelong devoted fan of the USC Trojans, passionately following their football and basketball teams through every season. His love for the Trojans was unwavering, and he rarely missed a game. This deep connection to USC sports was a defining part of who he was, and when his daughter continued his legacy by becoming a Trojan herself, it brought him immense joy and pride.
He is survived by his mother Joan Piechocki, his wife Pauline, daughter Maia and his siblings Mary (Hosier), Carol (Adelman), and Lynne (Murray).
He was preceded in death by his father James J. Piechocki and niece Braley Faron Murray.
Jim will be buried with family in Dewey, AZ. No services are scheduled.
