For all the years after our time as neighbors at Ft, Sheridan, IL, Stan and I often shared stories about, J.J. "Ain't no doot" Mills. Always with great fondness, mind you! He made a mean (and highly caloric) coal miners breakfast that we all loved. (Perhaps the Bloody Marys had something to do with that? Who knows, who cares...)
Our son, Brian, took care of JJ and Carole's dog, Bandit (I think that was his name) when they were out of town. JJ always paid him well.Too well, we thought, and Stan would have Brian try to give some of it back. JJ would have no part of it. So thank you, JJ, for financing Brian's skateboards and so much more.
Our memories speak to the fine man J.J. Mills was. We loved him, and he will be greatly missed.
