James Nelson's Obituary
JAMES L. NELSON, 87, a resident of Lovettsville, VA since 1940 died on Saturday March 3, 2007 in Leesburg, VA.
Mr. Nelson was born August 10, 1919 in Knoxville, MD to the late Winfield Scott and Elsie Mae Nelson. His wife Catherine Virginia Nelson in 2002, a son James Lee Nelson Jr. in 1971, stepfather Charles Leopold, two brothers Theodore and John Nelson, and one sister Charlotte Coeller also predeceased Mr. Nelson. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII in Europe with C-Company 741, one of two railway operations battalions. Mr. Nelson retired from the B&O Railroad after 40 years and farmed for over 20 years in Lovettsville. He was a member of the VFW Post 6731, Biloxi, Mississippi, and a past member of the American Legion and the Eagles in Brunswick, MD.
Mr. Nelson is survived by two sons: Bernard C. and Sharon Nelson of Biloxi, Mississippi, Ed and Linda Nelson of Charlestown, West Virginia; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
Friends may call at the Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapel 34 East Broad Way, Lovettsville, VA on Monday March 5, 2007 from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 6, at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Mt. Road, Lovettsville, VA at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
