James Norton's Obituary
Mr. James Henry Norton, 65, of Hamilton, VA, died Monday, August 6, 2007, at Virginia Hospital Center in, Arlington, VA.
Born Sept. 6, 1941, in West Palm Beach, FL. He was the son of the late Stafford B. Norton and the late Dorothy (Gunter) Norton.
Enlisted in the US Army in 1962 and served for 26 years before retiring in 1988, obtaining rank of E-8, Master Sgt. Mr. Norton served his country in Viet Nam from 66-67. Other military assignments included Germany, Military Attache Offices, US Embassies in Cameroon, West Africa, and Budapest, Hungary, and the Pentagon.
After retiring, Mr. Norton worked as a civilian for the Dept. of Defense in the Pentagon for 14 years, until retiring in 2003.
He is survived by his wife Donna Norton of Hamilton; his daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra and Ted VanEmpel and four grandchildren: Cayla, Christopher, Jacqueline, and Alex all of Lake Villa, IL.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Hamilton, VA.
