James Roy Presgraves' Obituary
James Roy Presgraves, 86, known as Loudoun County’s “Donkey man” of Clarks Gap, VA passed on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
James was born Monday, July 26, 1926 in Fairfax County, Virginia. One of four children, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Presgraves and the late Willie Sadie Dailey Presgraves. He served his country as a military police officer and a private 1st class in the United States Army. He was a veteran of World War II. James was a dairy farmer by trade. He most enjoyed raising and selling donkeys.
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Beulah Victoria Presgraves (1995), daughter, Patricia Whitten, and sister, Louise Ellmore.
James was a proud member of the Leesburg Church of The Nazarene, where he attended every Sunday, and sat in the back pew.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his grandson Bill Burwick and his fiancée Cindy Hamilton of Ashburn; his brother, Eugene Presgraves (Rowena) of Nokesville, VA, sister, Margaret Clark of Clifton, VA; 2 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Arnon Chapel Cemetery, Great Falls, VA.
