James Ruben Vincent's Obituary
James Ruben Vincent, 74 of Aldie, Virginia went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at The Monroe House in Sterling, Virginia.
Affectionately referred to as Sonny, James was born on Monday, April 18, 1938 in Aldie, Virginia. He was a son of Ruben Vincent and Elizabeth Stewart. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife of 48 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Vincent in 2010.
A lifelong resident of Aldie, James attended Loudoun County Public Schools and worked for Fairfax County School Board as a maintenance worker for over 20 years.
James served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was an active member and participated in bible study, Senior Choir, Men's Choir and vacation bible school. He was extremely dedicated and often spent many hours cleaning and caring for the church grounds.
James loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren. They enjoyed babysitting and going out to eat together. He also drove the grandchildren to school and helped when he could. We will miss him dearly.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Brian and daughter- in-law Heather; four grandchildren: Trinity, Samuel, Joshua and Aaron; his brother, Paul Vincent; his sister, Ann Vincent; his aunt, Lucinda Williams; his uncle, Rev. James Stewart; his niece, Leighann Vincent; and many nephews, cousins, Brothers-in-law, Sisters-in-law, and friends that will miss him deeply.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church located at 24337 Old Carolina Road, Aldie, VA 20105 with the Rev. Eugene Pearson officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery, Aldie, VA.
