James "Willard" Johnson's Obituary
James “Willard” Johnson, 83, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester.
Born on May 7, 1931 in Loudoun County he was the son of the late James Chott Johnson and the late Roxie Lee Sutphin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine R. Johnson; son, James “Jim’ Melvin Johnson; and grandson, Derek Alan Cooper.
Willard graduated from Lovettsville High School and went on to be a dairy farmer until his retirement until 1999. In retirement, he enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Cooper and her husband, Terry of Winchester; daughter-in-law, Debbie Johnson of Leesburg; grandchildren, Kerri Shannon (Jeremy), Jamie Martin (Derek), Karli Johnson and Riley Johnson; and four great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lee Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at Leesburg Union Cemetery.
