Com. James E. Wille's Obituary
James Edward Wille was born on September 14th, 1926 to Clarence and Margaret Wille in Milwaukee, WI and was an only child. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and from the Naval Post Graduate School with a M.S. in Electronics Engineering. He married Katherine Gleeson in 1953 and had 4 children: Karen, Jim, Betsy and Doug. Katherine passed away in 1993 and Jim married Virginia Seymour in 1994.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and retired as a Commander. His last tour of duty was Project Manager, AN/BQQ-2 Sonar Project (PMS385), Naval Ship Systems Command during which he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. After retiring from the Navy, Jim worked as a defense contractor, continuing to support U.S. Navy Submarine Advanced Combat System Programs.
Jim is survived by his wife Virginia, his children Karen, Jim, Betsy and Doug, his step children Rick, Steve, and Debbie, 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 908 Trailview Blvd, SE,
Suite 200, Leesburg, VA 20175 on Wednesday, July 18th, 2012 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Jim’s name to one of the following charities: Fischer House, Wounded Warriors, or Samaritan’s Purse. Mr. Wille will be buried with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, December 3, 2012.
