James Edward Vetter's Obituary
JAMES EDWARD VETTER, 69, of Ashburn, Virginia, formerly of Falls Church, Virginia died on Tuesday May 5, 2009 in Ashburn. Mr. Vetter was born September 9, 1939 in Moorefield, WV to the late Milton Randolph and Martha Heavner Vetter. One brother William “Billy” Vetter also predeceased him. He graduated Moorefield High in 1958, attended Shepherd College and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Vetter owned and operated several restaurants in the Ft. Belvoir, Alexandria and Arlington areas from the 1960’s to the 1980’s. He operated the Jim Vetter Sedan Service for over fifteen years and upon retiring began to volunteer with the Brambelton Regional Golf Course as a starter from 2004-07. Mr. Vetter was a golf and horseracing enthusiast, a friend to all that met him, loved spending time with his family and going to the beach.
Mr. Vetter is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Ellen Joan Vetter of Ashburn, VA; two children: Laurie and husband William Gessaman of Leesburg, John Vetter of Reston, VA; two sisters: Anna Vetter and Helen Delauder both of Moorefield, WV; two grandchildren: Jackson and Sophia Gessaman and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday May 9, 2009 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, VA.
