James Neville DeCourcy's Obituary
James Neville DeCourcy, 43, of Alexandria, formerly of Waterford, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at his home. Mr. DeCourcy was born in Leesburg, VA on October 23, 1964 to John and Ellen Bradfield DeCourcy. His father was a diplomat with U.S. Foreign Service, and DeCourcy spent much of his childhood living abroad in different cities, returning to Waterford when he was 12 years old. He attended Blue Ridge Middle School and Loudoun Valley High School, graduating in 1983. He attended Longwood College and Virginia Commonwealth University. After Working in Richmond, he moved to Alexandria. For the past five years he worked as a senior tariff analyst for Airline Tariff Publishing Company, tracking airline fares for all flights worldwide. He played in youth soccer leagues in Loudoun and was an enthusiastic fan of the Washington Redskins. He was Keenly interested in all professional sports and was a member of a local fantasy football group and a poker group. An avid reader, he loved to discuss politics and economics.
In addition to his parents: John Spencer and Ellen Bradfield DeCourcy, he is survived by one son: Christopher; two sisters, Susan LeMarr and Anne DeCourcy and a brother, John S. DeCourcy Jr.; aunts Elizabeth Annis of Sitka, AK, Patricia Barlow of Corvalis, OR and Jane Davison of Leesburg; and uncle Edward N. Bradfield of Lancaster, CA. His grandparents Neville and Ruth Bradfield of Leesburg and Harold and Margaret DeCourcy of Waterford; an uncle Harold DeCourcy of Waynesboro predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday April 5, 2008 at Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford, VA with Pastor David Douthett officiating.
Interment will follow in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
