Jaquelin Payne Taylor's Obituary
Jaquelin Payne Taylor, wife of the late Frederic Lord Taylor, died on June 8,, 2025 at the age of 93. Born in Lynchburg, Va. and raised in Fluvanna County, she was the daughter of the late Katherine DeMott Payne and Jaquelin Harrison Payne. A Richmond resident since 1972, she served as the President of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in conjunction with that was the Regent of Gunston Hall.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two children, a son Frederic Lord Taylor, Jr. and a daughter, Jaquelin Taylor Bishof and her husband Mark, of Great Falls, Va., and three grandchildren: Katherine Altin and her husband Daniel, Jaquelin Bishof and Rebecca Bishof.
Mrs. Taylor was a communicant of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Tuckahoe Women’s Club and a former member of the Woman’s Club and the Council of the Virginia Museum.
With a lifelong passion for Virginia and family history, this dedication led Mrs. Taylor to author, Love and War, a thoroughly researched book that explored the life and times of Polly and John Marshall, the Chief Justice of the United States.
A private burial will take place at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Va.
