Jeremy Jones' Obituary
Jeremy Jones, age 44, of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on May 15th, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
Jeremy Jones was born on May 31st, 1978 in Boise, Idaho. His parents are Dennis and Margo Jones.
Jeremy was an adventurous and outgoing spirit that grew up embracing adventure in the outdoors. When he was 18, he joined the military and was spurred to great heights by his exceptional work ethic and force of personality. There are very few places in the world and few experiences that he did not get to take part in.
Jeremy served for 23 years in the US Army and retired on November 18, 2020 as a Master Sergeant. He was awarded several awards and commendations for service, including a bronze star.
Outside of his travels and work, Jeremy enjoyed cinema, music, video games, and spending time with family. He was a man of many talents, equally comfortable impressing state officials at a fancy dinner as enjoying a comfortable night in with taquitos and tater tots.
Jeremy left an impression on everyone who had the pleasure to know him, and his legacy will continue to live on through the memories he created with those he touched. He will be remembered as a loving father and son, a dedicated and accomplished soldier, and a dear friend to many.
Jeremy is survived by his daughter, Jessicah Jones (26), his father, Dennis Jones (64), his mother, Margo Jones (59), his brothers, Wyatt Jones (25) and Arrin Jones (43), and his sisters, Dana Jones (40) and Nicole Lewis (40).
A memorial will be held in Southern Pines, where Jeremy lived with his family for over a decade. It will be attended by many friends, family, and colleagues as a celebration of the life he lived. Jeremy wished for those he knew to drink, sing, and make merriment in remembrance of his life.
