Jesse Hughes' Obituary
Deacon Jesse Hughes departed this life on December 5, 2005 at Loudoun Hospital Center in Lansdowne, Virginia.
Jessie was born on February 14, 1926 in Loudoun County. He was employed with the Federal Government when he retired. He was assigned to the National Bureau of Standard in Gaithersburg, MD.
Jesse was proud of being a Deacon and the oldest on the board. Jesse had a favorite saying it was, “We all need to be on one accord.”
Jesse enjoyed his old cars, fishing and driving his truck. They were all equal in pleasure to him. Jesse was also a Cowboys fan. Go Cowboys!!!
He leaves to mourn his passing, daughters Geraldine Morris of Inwood, WV, Alice Lee Kearneysville, WV, Lita Hosby of Harrrisburg, PA, Renita Freeland of Germantown, MD; sons Richard Corum of Herndon, VA, Jessie Corum of Ranson, WV, son-in-laws George Morris of Inwood, WV, Ervin Lee of Kearneysville, WV, daughter-in-laws Anna Corum of Ranson, WV, Mary Alice Corum of Herndon, VA; a sister Pauline Murray of Purcellville, VA, a brother William Murray of Washington, DC, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, life long friend and loved one Pauline Corum of Sterling, VA, loyal niece/daughter and friend Leetta Hughes, friend and loved cousins Glenn and Jackson, loved and cherished friend/son Jamie Lane, beloved niece and nephew Joyce Hall and Daniel Ramey; beloved neighbor and friend Themal Whitmore, beloved friends Gordon and Floyd Trammel; plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, William and Mattie Hughes, sisters Hester Ramey, Edith Sheppard, brothers Louis Hughes, Charles Odie Hughes, grandson Tyree Hughes, and great granddaughter Chayna Hughes.
Friends may call on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 10 to 11 am at the First Mount Olive Baptist Church, 16 Loudoun Street, SW Leesburg, Virginia, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11am. Interment will be held in Gleedsville Cemetery, Gleedsville, Virginia. Donations may be made to Loudoun Health Care or to Capital Hospice
