Jessie Boyer (Philips) Settle (Age 103)
Of Frederick Maryland passed away to the Lord on June 3, 2020 at Frederick Memorial Hospital of natural causes. She was born in 1917 at Waxpool, VA the daughter of James Boyer Phillips and Margaret Costello Phillips. She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Claudia, Eugenia, Luceil, and Dorothy and her daughter Joyce (Fletcher) James. She is survived by her daughter Betty Jane (Fletcher) Southam, her son Stephen Fletcher, his wife Cindy, four nieces and one nephew. Also surviving her are 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Jessie is remembered for providing child daycare in her home in Ashburn VA and also for her work in the cafeteria at Ashburn Elementary. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxillary of Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department while living in Virginia. A lifelong Christian, she was one of the original (13 years) participants and supporter of weekly devotional and church services with her friends at Creekside (her residence) in Frederick Maryland.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Independent Fire and Rescue Company, 310 Baughmans Lane, Frederick, MD 21702
