Joan Beatrice Barfield's Obituary
JOAN BEATRICE BARFIELD, 57, a resident of Ashburn, died on Friday September 28, 2007, in Fairfax, Virginia. Mrs. Barfield was born on April 12, 1950, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Edison and Beatrice Washburn Miller. She moved to Loudoun in 1977, and made several moves afterwards with her husband’s work to various places including Hillsboro, NJ; Dallas, TX; and Atlanta, GA before settling in Eastern Loudoun for good in 1989. Mrs. Barfield was very active in the Sterling Youth Soccer Club with her daughters as they were growing up, and served as the Sterling Representative for the Washington Area Girls Soccer League. She had a creative talent with various crafts that included sewing. However her most recent passion was beaded jewelry. Mrs. Barfield was last employed with HECHT’S at the Dulles Town Center in fragrance from 2000-2005.
Mrs. Barfield is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years Harold D. Barfield; her two daughters; Autumn Leigh and Brandi Joan Barfield; and granddaughter Rileigh Rose Barfield. They are all of Ashburn. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Cr., Leesburg, VA on Thursday October 4, 2007 from 7-9pm. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday October 5 at 11:00am. Interment will be in Leesburg’s Union Cemetery.
