Joan Burleson Blum's Obituary
JOAN BURLESON BLUM, 71, of Lovettsville, Virginia died on Saturday, November 6, 2010 Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland. Mrs. Blum was born July 14, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Jones Ernest and Julia Magruder Burleson. A son, Jeffrey Keith Blum and two siblings, Jones E. Burleson, Jeanne Musgrove also predeceased her. She graduated from Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, VA. Mrs. Blum was involved with the family business for 40 years, Bernie Blum Plumbing and Heating Inc. She was a member, past local president, past state president and past national secretary of the Auxiliary of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC). Mrs. Blum enjoyed reading, tending her flowers and loved spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Blum is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years on November 20th, Bernie Blum of Lovettsville; a son: Troy Blum of Knoxville, MD; four siblings; Jon Burleson of Warrenton, VA, James Burleson of Lovettsville, Janet Spence of Manassas, VA, Judy Seltmann of Fairfax, VA; grandson: Tyler Blum of Knoxville and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg, VA from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Services will follow at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 10th at the funeral home with Pastor Albert Payne officiating. Interment will be in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
