Joanne Johnston's Obituary
Joanne Steinmayer Johnston, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, in Reston, VA. A daughter of the late Charles J. and Ruth Valara Fox Steinmayer who was born on Sept. 5, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA. Joanne lived in Northern VA most of her adult life. She was a loving mother and proud member of AA for 20 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Andrew Chandler Johnston in March of 2007, and a son Andrew C. Johnston, Jr. in April of 1999.
Joanne is survived by three children: Richard C. Johnston of San Ramon, CA, Jennifer A. Bailey of Ashburn, VA, and Cynthia L. Murdoch of Williamsburg, VA; also survived by her brother Charles J. Steinmayer, Jr. of Elkins Park, PA, and six grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 10:00am at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 43454 Crossroads Dr. Ashburn, VA 20147.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Johnston’s memory to the American Lung Association, 9221 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, VA 23235.
