Johanna Macomber's Obituary
Johanna Macomber, 89, of Ashburn, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Edward Macomber in 1998, and her twin sister Eva Powell (Marler) in 2006. Johanna was the beloved mother of Sandy Vella, and her fiancé James Dean, grandchildren Brandon and Ashley Vella and their father Dennis Vella, and her son Ed Macomber (Debbie), grandchildren Brady, Chris (Diana), Casey (Whitney) Macomber, and great grandmother to Jake Macomber. She is also survived by her niece Schatzi Woody (Ron), and nephew Scott Powell (Sabrina) and many other beloved great nieces and nephews.
Johanna worked for many years in the Ashburn area as a child care provider and touched the lives of many children and their parents alike. Prior to moving to the Ashburn area, Johanna and her husband Edward resided in many different parts of the world, primarily Germany due her husband’s distinguished military career. She will be remembered as a woman who was generous to a fault and loved unconditionally her family and many friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, at 6:00PM to 7:00PM, with a service immediately following at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Va. She will be laid to rest at a later date with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
