John E. Cochran's Obituary
May 20, 1956-January 12, 2015.
John Earl Cochran, devoted father, husband, son and decorated veteran passed away January 12, 2015. Mr. Cochran was a graduate of Mississippi State University, earned the rank of Captain in the US Army, and held leadership positions with several major corporations.
He was founder and CEO of Ian, Evan & Alexander Corporation (IEA), and through his tireless efforts, led IEA to become a top contractor to the Army and Department of State.
John is survived by his wife Cheryl Cook Cochran of Ashburn, VA, sons John Alexander Cochran of Denver, CO, Grayson Evan Cochran of Arlington, VA and Tanner Ian Cochran, of Boulder, CO, daughter Jennifer Cochran Jackson of Ashburn, VA, mother Faye Hicks of Fulton, MS, and colleagues and mentors Al and Honey Nashman of Vienna, VA.
Funeral services began at 2 pm on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. The family received guests one hour prior at the church.
Graveside services and interment were held privately with the family on Thursday at Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
