John A. Costello, Sr. On Friday, July 20, 2018 in Leesburg, VA. Beloved husband of Sue Costello. Loving father of Suzanne (Gary) Slack and John A. Costello, Jr. (Leah). Brother of Eleanor Hazel and the late Thurman Costello and Lo Read Obituary

My cousin John Costello will forever remain in my heart. He was a kind, gentle and generous man. The memories of my time with him and Sue will forever be with me. John never failed to invite me for a stay when I traveled to Loudoun County from my west coast home. I recall fondly the many visits and the time spent just talking about life, our shared family history and the Navy stories of his service aboard the USS Midway (CV-41). John always found time to chauffeur me around Loudoun County to show me first hand where our shared families lived, worked and built lives for themselves. What great memories of our times together. My deepest sympathies to Sue, Suzanne, Jac and the entire family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss my dear friend and cousin.
John was one of my dearest friends and was a legend in Eastern Loudoun during the early 60's. John was a native of Waterford but moved to Sterling Park in 1963 at 505 West Church Road. John was the charter president of the Sterling Jaycees and made it possible, through a waver, for me to become a member even though I didn't live in Sterling Park but resided in Broad Run Farms with my young family. John and Sue,(his lovely wife) were not only my friends but Sue actually worked for me in my Sterling Senate office. I appointed John to the Loudoun County Planning Commission while I was county supervisor. John later ran for and won a seat on the Loudoun Board of Supervisors from the old Broad Run District. where he served with distinction. In addition to being a community leader and public official John was a great family man. In time John's family and friends may become accustomed to not having John among us but we shall never forget his good and cheerful way of life. My deepest sympathy goes out to Sue and the family.
This breaks my heart. I just opened Facebook and saw this or I would have been there to show my affection to the entire Costello family. I loved talking with John over the years and although in our later years we saw less of each other, I always regarded you as family. My love and condolences to all.
Love,

Scott,
My apologies. The morning I talked with you I was still half asleep. I just remembered our conversation tonight while talking with a student I tutor about his award ceremony. It is probably too late for me to be of any assistance but I appreciate being remembered. Tell anyone I may know hello.
Thanks,
Kathlee
