John Felix Glitzner's Obituary
JOHN FELIX GLITZNER, 76, on Monday, August 13th 2012 in Martinsburg, WV with the love of his life beside him he passed away peacefully after a short illness from complications due to Miller Fisher Syndrome and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma ."Jack" was born October 20th 1935 in New York City to the late Felix and Grace V. Gillick Glitzner. A brother, Joseph M. Glitzner and a step-son, Christopher T. Rollison also predeceased him. He was educated in Catholic Schools and graduate of the NY Maritime College. Jack served two years as a Third Class Engineer in the Merchant Marines before moving to Washington, DC to accept a job with the Department of the Navy. While working with the Navy Department he served as Project Manager for the first SWATH ship built, known as the Kalamino and later served as Project Engineer and Financial Officer while building the only stealth ship for the Navy known as the Sea Shadow. Following retirement he worked part time for several companies in the Washington Area and started a small business, Crafty Critters, with his brother. Jack held Redskins season tickets for 50 years, he loved fishing, boating, traveling and had a great passion for history. He was a politically conservative man of great faith as well as a man of great moral campus. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Glitzner is survived by his beloved wife Stella Ahalt Rollison Glitzner, five children from a previous marriage, nine grandchildren, a sister in law, Gloria Green Glitzner and three nieces.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, August 16th 2012 in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA
