Butch (John Heller) & I, Mary Clare Hendler Wagner, enjoyed summer boating on lake Winola, Pa. in our youth & driving our mothers crazy rocking the row boat & lying down in the boat as if we had fallen into the lake. I can’t remember our age, our moms were best friends and would be playing cards on the boat dock.

We always had fun when we were together, great memories. Butch was also so nice to my son John when he was an OCC intern in Washington.

He was a friend, a great person, and I am honored to have known him.

Dear Phylis, I was so sad to read Butch's obituary in our Sunday paper. I have known Biutch since I was 10 years old...we were classmates ( KHS 1950 and also neighbors...Butch lived on the street behind me. ) I have many happy memories. My husband and I send our sympathy to you and your family and pray God will give you comfort and Peace at this sad time. We will miss Butch.
