John Paul Moran's Obituary
John "Jay" Paul Moran, 81, passed away on April 27th at his home in Ashburn, Virginia. His
funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4th, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel &
Crematory in Leesburg, Virginia. The interment of ashes will occur at a later date in Ocean View,
Delaware.
Jay was born in Scranton, Pennsyivania on December 21, 1940. His parents were William and
Margaret (nee: McGeehan) Moran. He attended Seton Hall Prep and graduated from Seton hall
University in 1963. He later obtained his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Jay married June Elinor Holt on August 9, 1969, in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.
Jay and June
settled in Livingston, New Jersey and later Fair Haven, New Jersey. Jay worked as a television
syndicator and started his own company, J and J Station Clearance. His clients included NFL
Films, Major League Baseball, and the World Wrestling Federation. Jay was active in the
Livingston Little League and served as President for several years. He will be remembered as a
devoted father who attended all of his children's sporting events. Jay and June retired to
Bethany Beach, Delaware and later Ashburn, Virginia to be closer to their children and
grandchildren.
Jay is survived by his wife of 52 years, June; son James (Caryn) Moran, their son Joseph; and
daughter Karen (Austin) Riffle, and their children Alice and Jack. Jay is also survived by his
sister Mary Claire Konner.
