John "Jack" Farrell Mulhall's Obituary
John “Jack” Mulhall, 67, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 of cardiac arrest at his home in Ashburn, Virginia.
Jack was born on July 15, 1946 in Washington, D.C. to the late Walter and Lois MacKenzie Mulhall. He lived with his family in Cleveland, Ohio, and Larchmont, New York, before returning to the Washington area to complete his high school years at St. Johns College High School, graduating in June of 1964. He attended Notre Dame University and received his Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University in Baltimore.
Throughout his adult years Jack described himself as a “peddler”. He was employed by a number of different firms, most notably Translogic Corporation in Philadelphia, Miami and Washington and Insituform East in Landover, Maryland where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He ended his career at Insituform Technologies also in Maryland.
He was a lover of sports. As a child he was an avid baseball fan and player and as a teenager and adult he loved to play and watch golf. He played football, baseball, and was on the golf team at St. Johns. At Notre Dame he was on the golf team and the rugby team. He coached many youth athletic teams in baseball and football.
His years in Ashburn were spent either working, on the golf course or enjoying his friends at the Ashburn Pub. In his later years he looked forward to the weekly lunches at the Pub with his friend, Roger.
He is predeceased by his mother, father and his sister, Dorothy. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Ann; his sister, Kathy; his son, Danny; his daughter, Ryan; and son-in-law, Christopher. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Ellie, and Ginny.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m on Friday, August 30th at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Ashburn, Virginia. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the Friends of Homeless Animals.
