I just ran across this! Johnny was my cousin!
His mom Marion, we all called her Punch was my father Eddie's sister.
Johnny loved my dad and followed in his foot steps being a car salesman, and a poker player!
I guess no one will ever see this post since its 4 years ago.
If anyone knows how I can get in touch with his daughter, or knows how Johnny died..I'd love to know what happened. I'm also looking for our cousin Bobby.

I was a Salesman at Leesburg,Chrysler,Plymouth Dodge and Nissan in 1987. John was my Sales Manager. I remember him seeming bigger than life and having endless energy. I lasted I believe only 6 months as a Salesman and I have forgotten many on life's road, but for some reason I never forgot John. Rest easy John. - Rob Grant Ashburn Va 571-242-2716
I knew John about 13 years and it was a pleasure being around him. Whether at work, playing poker or hanging around, John had an amazing way about him. I used to love hearing him tell tales from Australia and sharing our affinity for the Allman Brothers. He had a laugh that was contagious, he saw the irony in things without having it repeated to him. When we would all play poker and he would call a hand that he knew he had no right to call, all he would do is sing, "I gotta be me". You are truly missed Johnny boy, by all that knew you and loved you. I see you hanging with Duane Allman and motorcycling through the clouds. Until we get together again, my friend, much love.
His bright infectious smile, big heart, sharp wit, great smelling cologne and beloved friendship will be so very missed. We will miss Southside dearly.

We were 10 or 11 years old. John liked to put a dab of glue on an HO-scale racecar, light it on fire and try to flip it off the track into a bucket of water. He was pretty good at it. Well, we ran out of glue and Mr. Norris took us to the store to buy more. The woman at the checkout counter refused to sell us the glue unless a parent was there. So we went looking for his dad, brought him to the counter and the lady gladly sold us the glue. His dad headed back to what he was doing and John and I in the other direction. After a few steps John turned around, waved to his dad and yelled "thanks mister" and we ran out of the store. That's my earliest memory of John's ability to turn normal situations into an event.

Our hearts are broken. Sending love and condolences to Johnny's family and his best bud, Barry. May we always remember that beautiful smile, that infectious sense of humor, that love for life and excitement and that gorgeous soul. Riding the big highway on his favorite Harley, I hope.
