Jonathan Roy Peluso's Obituary
Jonathan “J.R.” Peluso
August 22, 1978 – April 21, 2018
Jonathan Roy Peluso “J.R.” was born on Travis AFB, Fairfield, California on August 22, 1978. He was a son, brother, recovery brother, musician, visual artist, Star Wars enthusiast and Transformer collector – his collection topped 4,250!
From a young age, J.R. was an undeniably talented sketch artist, guitarist and singer. Playing in many varied bands, as well as, producing innumerable drawings, paintings and sculptures, he not only entertained, he inspired everyone around him.
He attended elementary school in Moscow, USSR, graduated from Broad Run High School Ashburn, VA and held an Associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
A formidable sci-fi fantasy geek, one would know his car anywhere by the Transformer Decepticon logo on the hood and the license plate SHCK-WAV.
As he matured, he turned his talents toward church, where he played and organized music for Pleasant Valley UMC. He had an engaging smile, cutting edge wit, infectious laugh and loving nature.
On his road to recovery, J.R. brought empathy and dedication, inspiring others to grow and better their lives. He would have received his 10 Year Recognition Coin this December.
During his exciting career in the IT field, he received many awards for excellence; however, he was most proud of the peer voted Analyst of the Year Award that he received at Mitre Corp.
J.R. became one with the Force on April 21, 2018 due to complications with Type 1 diabetes.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Sharyl Peluso of Fredericksburg, Virginia and his brother, Anthony “Tony” Peluso of Columbus, Ohio, as well as, his favorites cats: Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. He is preceded in death by his beloved pug, Jango.
A “Celebration of J.R. at Celebrate” will be held on Friday May 18, 2018 2:00-4:00 pm in the Riverside Lodge Ballroom, 10 Montera Drive, Fredericksburg, VA, 22406.
