Joseph Feconda's Obituary
Mr. Joseph Augustine Feconda, 87, of Lansdowne, VA, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, died Sunday, January 8, 2006. Born on February 18, 1918 in Canonsburg, PA. A son of the late Angelo Feconda and the late Josephine (Dececco) Feconda.
Mr. Feconda served his country in the US Army Air Corp; as a Navigator/Bombardier. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, obtaining the rank of 1st LT.
He was a notable Canonsburg Police Officer obtaining the rank of 1st Lt. before retirement, and also served as acting Chief of Police. He later was named Warden of the Washington County, PA Jail that defined his future career in Corrections. Mr. Feconda became the Director of Operations for the State of PA Department of Corrections, and then Director of Operations of the State of IL. He completed his career in similar posts in two New Jersey counties to be near his now deceased daughter, Marilyn (Feconda) Catalano, and upon retirement he moved back to Camp Hill, PA.
He is survived by his wife Ann Marguerite Feconda, of Lansdowne; One Daughter, Patricia June (Feconda) & husband Steve Rodgers of Springfield, Il; Two Sons, Joseph Alan & wife Karan Feconda of Bossier City, LA, and Robert Thomas Feconda & wife Wendy Anne Behm of Leesburg; Two Sisters, Marrietta Fasi of Glastonbury, CT and Eileen Kogut of Long Beach, CA; and three beloved grandchildren, Marisa Ludtke, Robby Feconda and Heather Feconda.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175, Leesburg, VA; where Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Father Richard Guest officiating and Pastor Reiff Lesher assisting. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 pm at Quantico National Cemetery located in Triangle, Virginia.
