Joseph Allen Kerns' Obituary
Joe Kerns, age 64, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, peacefully at his home in Gainesville, VA, surrounded by his family.
Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Andrew and Bette (Moore) Kerns. Joe dedicated 30 years of service to the Prince William County Police Department, retiring in 2010 as a First Sergeant. He spent the first few years of his retirement as a circuit court bailiff with the Prince William County Sheriff’s Department. Joe most recently worked as a courier for Superior Paving Corporation in Gainesville, VA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Patricia (Pappano) Kerns and their two children: Philip Kerns (Meghan) and Jennifer Gusmer (Matthew); three grandchildren: Ryder, Adalyn, and Knox Kerns; and his two sisters Jeanne Layne and Agatha JoAnne King.
A mass will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10 AM at Saint Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, VA.
