Joseph Michael Woods' Obituary
Joseph Michael Woods, 80, most recently of Leesburg, Virginia, passed at home on Sunday, November 7, 2021.
Born February 19, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph Aloysious Woods and the late Margaret Murray Woods. He was recently predeceased by his younger brother, Gerard John Woods of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Claire Minihane Woods, his sons, Christian Woods (Heather) of Leesburg, Virginia and Brian Woods (Rebecca) of Mooresville, North Carolina, his four grandchildren, Luke, Kendall, Connor, and Isla, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, Virginia 20147 with the Father James Hudgins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Saint Thomas More Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which helps aid in obtaining a sound Catholic education. Donations may be sent to STMAA, P.O. Box 294, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026.
