Joyce Carol Cavanaugh's Obituary
JOYCE CAROL CAVANAUGH, 82 of Ashburn, Virginia died on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Ashburn, Virginia after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born Friday, December 5, 1941, in Washington, District of Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Frank Spicer and the late Dorothy Spicer. She was the wife of the late Donald George Cavanaugh.
She attended Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. On April 6, 1974, she married Donald George Cavanaugh at Fort Meyer Post Chapel. She worked as a bookkeeper for Holy Family Catholic Church in Dale City Virginia and for the City of Manassas.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Jean Wagner and Mary Jane Hawk and her brother, Frank Spicer, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Marie Cavanaugh, her sisters, Beverly Case and Joan Ricker, and her many nieces and nephews.
A Catholic Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 21371 St. Theresa Lane Ashburn, Virginia 20147ith the Father John Farrel officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
