Joyce Loomis' Obituary
Joyce Wood Loomis "Joy", 81, of Lansdowne, VA, died Monday, January 8, 2007, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
Born on December 11, 1925 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late Claude Obern Wood and the late Mary Elmina (Neal) Wood.
In addition to her parents, Joy is predeceased by her husband Robert E. Loomis and her granddaughter Jennifer Joy Loomis.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael & wife Gwen Loomis of Allentown, PA, Bradley & wife Aida Loomis of Vienna, and Jeffrey D. and wife Ann Loomis of Leesburg, one brother, Donald Neal & wife Marie Wood of Durham, NC, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A reception in Joy''s memory will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 pm at Leisure World 19385 Cypress Ridge Terrace, Riverbend building, Lansdowne, VA 20176.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Earlham College, 801 National Road West, Richmond, IN 47374 or to the National Wildlife Federation, Source Code: WSXRLGXS, 11100 Wildlife Center Dr., Reston, VA 20190-5362.
