Joyce A. Wertz's Obituary
Mrs. Joyce A. Wertz, age 75 of Glenwood, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 after a courageous battle with gallbladder cancer. Joyce was born on March 19, 1936 in Pretty Prairie, Kansas. She was the daughter of the late Arthur H. Albright and the late Mary (Lambert) Albright. Joyce graduated from Emporia State Teacher’s College and taught third and sixth grade prior to raising her family. She later worked as an administrative assistant with First Energy Corp. in NJ for 24 years until retiring in 2009.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Frederick Humphreys Wertz, of Glenwood, NJ; two daughters and their spouses: Sheryl and Charles Torrance of Leesburg, VA, and Pamela and Tibor Deak of San Diego, CA; and seven grandchildren.
She also leaves a brother and two sisters and their spouses: Alvin and Rose Albright of Hutchinson, KS, Lou Ann and Erland Wallace of Texhoma, OK, and Marilyn and Herbert Barr of Hamburg, NJ; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate her life is planned for June 23, 2012 at 11:00 am, at Goble Funeral Home in Sparta, NJ.
Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the American Cancer Society or to Capital Caring of Leesburg, VA.
