Dear Eric, Diane, Janet, Susan, Lori, and all,
It is with so much sadness that I have learned of the passing of my friend Joyce. It has been many years since i've seen her, but she has been thought of so often. Joyce was the most loving, caring person I have ever met. Her generous heart has been an inspiration to me. Two fond memories: Playing "hookey" from a National Center for Homeopathy conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. We were roommates (after dear Lee had passed away) that year. We left the conference and drove up to Sedona to see the sights in the desert, and stopping to explore some cliff dwellings on the way. It was after dark when we returned feeling quite naughty as we ate ice cream cones for dinner.
The other memory was also at an NCH Conference in San Diego. We went across the bridge to see the famous old Hotel del Coronado. Our goal was to get up to the cupola on the top. We went as high as we could on the elevator, and then tried every door and stairway that might lead us to the cupola, but we didn't have any luck. I was lagging a bit behind her to reach the bus going back. Joyce called to me to "run", and she took off like a professional runner, looking all the while like the dignified sweet person she was.
I am so sorry I will not be able to attend her memorial, thus this wordy message to you.
She leaves us all with many wonderful memories. I am deeply grateful to have known Joyce.
Ann Herren
