Judith Ann Prochko's Obituary
Judith Ann Prochko (nee Waters), passed into eternal life on December 31, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born November 23, 1940 in Neptune, NJ to Norman and Agnes (Larsen) Waters. Judy enjoyed working with young girls as a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years and became passionate about environmental issues. She joined the League of Women Voters in Fairfax as a member of the Citizens Committee for Solid Waste. She composted before it was popular and wrote articles under the nom de plume, “Wanda Wastewatcher.” She was also a member of the DAR.
Judy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert John Prochko, and her dear brother, Donald Ross Waters.
She is survived by her three children: Kristen (Andrew) Mercker, Amy (Eric) Stewart, and Michael (Catherine) Prochko. She also leaves her sister, Jill Bonacci, nine grandchildren: Austin, David, Veronika, Eric, Mark, Travis, Matthew, Gabriel, Holly, and one great grandchild, Aleksander. Visitation will be at Loudoun Funeral Chapel Leesburg, VA from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7 followed by funeral service. Interment to be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
