In Loving Memory of Juliet Pei-li Bumpas
Juliet Pei-li Bumpas, age 84 of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Leesburg, Virginia.
Juliet was born December 28, 1938 and is the wife of late Colonel Hugh Bumpas Jr, and the daughter of the late Tsu-Piao Hwang and late Chih-Ying Hwang.
She is survived by her two sons, Geoffrey Hugh Bumpas of Frisco, TX, and Derek Alastair Bumpas of Allen, TX; her siblings Sun-Chang Hwang, Marina Liu, Peter Hwong, Helen Hwang, and May-Li Barki; 3 grandchildren, Alexandra Lynn, Kailen Hugh, Christian Kai Bumpas, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Juliet’s warmth, compassion, and unwavering strength touched the lives of all who knew her. Her selflessness and alway putting others first was how she lived.
Juliet Pei-li Bumpas was a devoted wife to Colonel Hugh Bumpas and a nurturing mother to her sons. She provided unwavering support in Colonel Bumpas's successful military career, while her nurturing presence and guidance helped shape her sons into the people they are today. Juliet's love, loyalty, and commitment to her husband and children were the cornerstones of a strong and loving home.
Juliet Pei-li Bumpas leaves behind a legacy of leadership and community service. Her selfless contributions to the YWCA and The Welcome To Taipei organization will be remembered as testaments to her unwavering dedication to helping others.
Her memory will forever be held dear by her sons, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Juliet on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 3 pm, at the Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel. Immediately following the service she will be interred with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.
