June Elizabeth Powell's Obituary
Ms. June Elizabeth Powell, 85, of Reston, Virginia, died Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Tall Oaks Nursing Home in Reston. Mrs. Powell was born on June 6, 1924 in Jersey City, N.J. She was a daughter of the late Bertha Wilhelmina Dusel Kirschner and the late Richard Ernest Kirschner. Ms. Powell lived in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ for many years. She volunteered during the 60’s and 70’s at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ was very involved with the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Paramus, NJ. Ms. Powell moved to Northern Virginia during the early 1990’s to be closer to her family and worked in the Hallmark card store in the Manassas mall for a few years during the late 1990’s. Ms. Powell loved all animals but her true love was for cats.
Survived by her two daughters Melanie Powell and Sally Paradysz of Coopersburg, PA, Diane Prentice and husband Scott Prentice of Sterling, VA; Two grand daughters Lyndsay Tietjen of Sterling, VA, Bree Burns and husband Michael Burns of Leesburg VA; two great grandsons: Austin Burns, Ryan Burns and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday January 20, 2010 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, Virginia. Interment will be private.
