Kathleen Tharp's Obituary
Kathleen Kelly Tharp, 84, of Falls Church, VA, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, in Lansdowne, VA. Born July 3, 1923 in Chicago, IL.
She was the daughter of the late Francis Kelly and the late Mildred (Guilfoyle) Kelly.
Mrs. Tharp was a cryptographer for the Navy during WWII. She graduated with a law degree from the University of Illinois in 1950. Married in 1953 to her late husband Llewellyn deWaele Tharp Jr. She later worked for many years as an Attorney for the US Department of Defense.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly & husband John Kelley of Leesburg; her son-Gregory & his wife Gretchen Tharp of Houston, TX, two Sisters, Marjorie Rick of Waterford, and Eleanor Johnson of Chicago, IL; and two brothers, William Kelly of Chicago, IL, Frank Kelly of Fredericksburg, VA; and three grandsons, Brian, Austin and Daniel Kelley.
Internment services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, on October 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Those who wish to attend should arrive at the administration building at 10:30 am. Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175, Leesburg, VA.
