Kathryn "Jean" Kushmeider's Obituary
KATHRYN “JEAN” KUSHMEIDER, 93 of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born Friday, October 28, 1932, in Page, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George Omar Frazier and Gladys Lucille Payne Frazier.
Jean leaves many to cherish her memory including her beloved husband of almost 73 years, Paul John Kushmeider, sons, Robert Joseph Kushmeider and Steven Thomas Kushmeider (Kristy), and daughter, Lori Ann Stanley (John), as well as a sister, Judith Bullard. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Thompson (Matt), David Michael Kushmeider, Andrew Paul Kushmeider (Molly), Eric Hunter Stanley (Jennifer), and Tara Michelle Stanley, as well as her great grandchildren, Chase Robert Thompson, Aubrey Paige Thompson, Patrick Sturgill Kushmeider, Isabella Jean Kushmeider, Steven James Kushmeider, Blaire Rose Stanley, and Violet Savannah Stanley.
Jean was predeceased by her brothers, Robert John Frazier and Cecil Edwin Frazier, and by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Kushmeider.
Jean dedicated her life to caring for her family and loved nothing more than when they were all gathered together. She was an avid seamstress and taught multiple girl scout troops how to sew. She also loved to cook and garden, often trying new recipes and always surrounding her home with beautiful flowers. She filled the walls with lovely cross-stitch projects and enjoyed sharing her work with others.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. SE, Leesburg, Virginia. A Catholic prayer service will immediately follow at 2:30pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
Flowers can be sent to the funeral home, but you may consider making donations in Jean’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html) in lieu of flowers.
