Kenneth Leroy Carruthers' Obituary
Kenneth Leroy Carruthers born March 18, 1931, passed away May 4, 2018. He was preceded in death by parents Franklin Andrew and Ruth Irene Swaim Carruthers, one sister Helen Elizabeth “Betty” (Larry) Miller. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lela Irene (Hutchison) Carruthers, one son Kent (Heidi), one daughter Kelley (Tor) Cristofano, numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Kenny graduated Newcomerstown High School in 1949. He worked heavy equipment before entering trucking in Northeastern Ohio. Lela and Kenny were married Thanksgiving 1955 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Kenny moved his family to Warren Ohio in 1965, leasing multiple trucks hauling steel. In 1973 he returned to Cambridge, Ohio, operating a trailer court on West 40. He later returned to trucking, leasing vehicles to several small expedited service providers.
Voted Most "Easy Going" in his high school class, he always enjoyed people. As a son, husband, father, employee, employer, relative or friend, he left little to be desired. He will be greatly missed.
